Princess
Film Installation(26’)
with Sound-reactive lights

2024

Directed by Yelim Ki
Music by Lawrence McGuire
Supported by Seoul Arts Council(KR)

Princess seeks to explore the conditions that define the living and its potential agency, through film installations featuring monologue audio narratives and sound-responsive lighting. By experimenting with machine language and its physical manifestation, It reimagines the symbolic meaning of light and sound within a sci-fi context. The permanence promised by technology often fails, while the disposable persists disturbingly forever.

Artist Interview(KR)

In a world where immortality is the norm, the protagonist, Xana, becomes trapped in a half-conscious, dream-like state, endlessly replaying the voices in his mind. Over time, unexpected thoughts and words begin to disrupt his inner monologue, unraveling his sense of control.
