Heaven Machine(2026) portrays the redundancy and obsolescence of household appliances in a comedic register. Combining a visual novel with 3D animation and 90s point-and-click gameplay, the film captures the feeling of control and the illusion of it within domestic networks and communication technology. The narrative is based on the pseudoscientific theory that a particular vibrating frequency can stimulate the human eyeball, causing hallucinations. It was shown with a vibrating seat that embeds the haptic mechanism of a racing game.

(...) A phenomenon manifests itself between the surreal and the residual. Just as the Godmother is transported to heaven in *Heaven Machine*, a person there feels a vibration. At countless points of connection and on boundary surfaces, humans and objects sense vibrations and perceive invisible wear and tear. Compression and wear accompany the time of transfer. At first glance, it seems unremarkable, yet there is a subtle tremor of attrition. Why are the auto-play sounds and mechanical noises so terrifying? When objects become machines, this movement is distinctly different from human vitality. The snoring of a fridge, or the sound of old furniture breaking apart. For Ki and Sano, why do the devices that produce sound and vibration—and their worldview—creak and wobble? Might there be a reason, much like the cause of an earthquake? Or, just as a major disaster might be regarded as a revelation from a god or a demon, one might attribute the cause to a mighty force.
